The 2008 brush burning season is now over ! Carbon Monoxide -CO- detectors need to be installed. It is the law in MAss. They are required in all residences -except for 'all electric' buildings. Gas grills need be used outside -always! Seal gasoline cans with their caps (tightly) to prevent the fuel from going bad ealry -as well as to prevent accidental fires !! Do not use anything in a fueling nozzle to make it run in auto-shutoff mode. Only store and transport fuel in approved containers. Teach fire safety tricks to your neighbors. Be Safe !! Make our community Safe ! .. .

BRIEF TOWN DESCRIPTION
The town of Northborough is a Central-Eastern Massachusetts town. It is bordered by Berlin on the north, Westborough on the south, Marlborough on the east, Southborough on the southeast, and Boylston and Shrewsbury on the west. It is located approximately 30 miles west of Boston and 10 miles northeast of Worcester.

BRIEF DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Northborough Fire Department is a combination career and call department. It is made up of 16 career members, 17 call members, 1 (one) career administrative assistant, 1 (one) part-time ambulance billing clerk, 1 (one part-time hazardous materials assistance and 1 (one) career Chief.

NUMBER OF STATIONS
The department has one station that is centrally located within the town. This station was constructed in the mid 70's.

Year 2009 BRUSH BURNING RULES

The majority of residents burning were quite diligent in burning safely this year -as in all years. We would like to thank you all for doing so.

The next brush burning season starts January 15, 2009. Please familiarize yourself with the burning requirements of the town. Understanding them will allow you to comply with the Commonwealth and Town requirements regarding open-air burning.

WE WANT THE NEWS TO GET OUT! -we are a drop-off location for next winter as well.
