The popular Barbecue and Concert will be held for the third year at this year’s Applefest on Saturday, September 17th from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at the Rte. 135 Ellsworth/McAfee Park. The Knights of Columbus from St. Bernadette and St Rose of Lima Parish will be hosting the barbecue, while Teens4Kids will be selling cotton candy and the Women’s Group from St Rose of Lima will be selling homemade apple crisp. The funds raised by the two groups will be used to support their respective community groups. However, the food is only one of many available attractions.
3MF will be this year’s lead band at the festival. 3MF combines the familiarity of rock 'n roll with the immense energy of their youth to produce a sound akin to the Allman Brothers Band and the Grateful Dead which is scarce today. Solid foundations created by drummer James Massucco and bassist Riley Feeney allow for the intricate improvisational styles of guitarists Luke Tobin and Jake Shea to be utilized to their full potential. Sax player Kyle Champeon adds a unique aspect to their rock sound and passionate singing by both Tobin and Shea draws listeners of all kinds in.
Other attractions at the event include pony rides, also by Teens4Kids, a robotics show by the Algonquin Robotics Team, Fire truck visits by the Northborough Fire Department, and Moonwalks by Algonquin Scholarship Committee. Additionally, the Applefest Committee will also be selling glow sticks and balloons throughout the night.
Please invite family members, friends, and work associates to this very special Saturday night event to enjoy the music, good fun, and fun activities for all ages.
