Northborough Junior Woman’s Club Apple Pie Café
The Apple Pie Café, which is run by the Northborough Junior Woman’s Club (NJWC), has been a fixture at Applefest every year in Applefest’s history, selling apple pies, crisps, ice cream and refreshments at Trinity’s Church.
While members of the community are enamored with the atmosphere that allows Applefest attendees to take a break from the festivities to have a piece of apple pie or a serving of crisp, NJWC members feel it is the quality of the pies and crisps that is undeniably the event’s biggest allure. The event has been so successful that the NJWC has never failed to sell every product it has made.
Prior to Applefest three NJWC members volunteer to host workshops and club members volunteer to prepare the apple pies and crisps. The Friday before Applefest the pies and crisp are gathered from freezers and club members spend countless hours baking. On the day of Applefest club members are there ready with a smile to serve Applefest attendees the best pies and crisp they will ever taste!
NJWC receives donations from numerous merchants and this is also a key reason the event is so successful. The proceeds from the event, as with all money fundraised by the NJWC, is given directly to the community in support of charities and individuals in need.
Whole apple pies and crisps are sold for $10 each, while a bowl of apple crisp or a slice of apple pie can be purchased for $2.00. Ice cream and sodas are sold for $1 each. Be sure to stop by Trinity Church between 10:00am and 2:00pm and enjoy a delicious piece of pie or a bowl of Apple Crisp!
