lowes sponsership of applefest

Local business owner Thomas Lowe of Lowe’s Variety and Meats recently donated generous sums to this year’s Applefest celebration. His main reasons bring to light a story of community service and leadership. This story begins at the end of an era for Lowe’s when the owner decided to change locations from the center of town to the Northborough Shopping Center. Right before the move Hailey Lowe, his youngest of four children, was diagnosed with diabetes. The stress of orchestrating a change in business location and learning the ins and outs of this new disease proved overwhelming for Tom, though not defeating. Friends, neighbors, and loyal customers all joined together to help a distraught man. The time dedicated by many people, many of whom have no affiliation with Lowe’s Variety, was extraordinary and allowed the move to be completed faster than any anticipated. The move is just one example of many where townspeople have helped support each other and especially local businesses. Tom would like to recognize those who have helped him over the years and decided to sponsor Applefest because he would like to give back to all of those who gave so much for him, his family and his business.
